website

Home Page

For "azaleah"'s website, I firstly created my own font (capital handwriting), which is also shown in my music video. I wanted the main home page to enforce the artist's aesthetic and is very simplistic as this is the first impression it has on a viewer. There is a professional-looking photo of the artist to cover the majority of the screen, the name of the artist - along with a small description, an annoucement of the release of the artist's new EP and links to the artist's social media.

The next section of the website shows a one minute video of an upcoming single. I purposely chose for this to take up all the space of the page when you scroll as it is an important update to the artist's website. The music video shows a the beginning of a music video, the lyrics are revealed throughout it in a stylistic way. The background colours of the strip continue to reinforce "azaleah"'s brand.

The next space is shared between the artist's upcoming tour and merchandise. The buttons underneath each link to separate pages of the website.

The tour poster reinforces the artists brand by repeating the same colours and font. As "azaleah" is a new to the music industry they are only touring at a few popular venues in the UK.

This section of the home page is the largest, consisting of extra infomation about "azaleah"'s music. As well as a button at the bottom that would take you to the "Music" page.

The artist's new EP is shown greater detail; revealing the song list, album cover and the links to where to listen.

It also shows two more music videos: full "Feels Like We Only Go Backwards" and teaser for "Dark Red". "Feels Like We Only Go Backwards" has a metaphoric storyline and "Dark Red" is the artist lip-syncing infront of a projector.

The last section the website shows a quote from "azaleah" during an interview. I chose to place this at the end of the home page as though it is important to address this, a viewer may be overwhelmed by the amount of words and may not continue scrolling if it was placed further up. It quickly reveals the artist's personality, as well how the artist rose to fame.

"[What was your reaction when your song "Bitter Sweet Symphony" went viral on TikTok?] "Honestly... kinda mind-blowing... I'm just so humbled by the overwhelming response my music has gotten and its so surreal like the amount of support and love people have shown. And obviously, a massive 'thank you' to those who's stuck around from before as well, I'm so so grateful for you." - A  [Source: Interview with The Wire UK]

"Shop" Page

I contined to use a simple layout for the "Shop" page on the webite, making it easy to locate.

For my artist's merch, I research into what bands/artists I like have in their merch stores. I found that very few use their own appearance as apart of their clothing line, and instead use illustrations and their album covers.

So, it encouraged me to design my own merch ideas for "azaleah". I decided to use the album cover from the artist's recently released EP and add simple drawing of flower, which emphasise the idea of nostalgia as its like a child's drawing.

The footer of every page shows "azaleah" is contracted with Universal Music.
